Recent commission by artist Kate Mitchell

John A Douglas was recently commissioned by artist Kate Mitchell as video production designer for camera, lighting and editing of her new work  In Time  The work was exhibited at Anna Schwarz Gallery in Melbourne. The work is a durational 24 hour performance piece

Kate performed a 24 hour durational performance on a the hands of a large analogue clock that was built by Melbourne artist and film stage/props designer James McCready. The video was shot as a continuous pro res file using a Cannon 5D Mark III and the Atomos Samurai Blade.

The end result is fully functioning video timepiece, i.e. the 24 hour performance plays in real time and is synchronised accurately to within 1/25th of a second.
